I’ve mentioned that the online gambling world is much bigger and better than anyone could have imagined just a few short years ago. I’m not kidding; there are many ways for gambling fans like myself to enjoy themselves.
Of course, the main one (in my mind) is the online casinos. These are basically just virtual versions of the ‘real’ land-based casinos that we all know and love (or otherwise…). You can play all of those classic table games and slots, plus some games that may or may not be available at any brick-and-mortar destination. There are plenty of full-featured online casinos, as well as some that cater specifically to the slots fans. Keep in mind that an online casino usa may be the best bet for Americans, as there are plenty of websites that don’t want to deal with recent government complications.
There’s also my personal favorite, the online poker rooms. These are places where players play each other (i.e., instead of playing ‘the house’ as you would at an online casino, where the software is the dealer and/or your opponents). These are also places where your skills, and luck, can earn you a real-life spot in big money tournaments (aka The Moneymaker Effect).
For even more testosterone-fueled wagering action, we’re spoiled for choice with online sports betting. There are several excellent online sportsbooks, offering better odds and more sports to choose from compared to brick-and-mortar sportsbooks (which in many places are fairly few and far between, in my experience).
On the extreme opposite end of the spectrum, you have online bingo halls, which deserve a special mention because of how creatively they’ve embraced the online potential. You see, where I grew up, bingo was always a game for church charities, played by seniors, with excitement mostly discouraged. However, online bingo is a faster-paced game that revolves around the online chat (which provides additional and unique games as well as an often-raucous social experience) and often attracts a noticeably younger and hipper crowd.
Am I leaving anything out? There are some interesting oddball websites out there, which offer things like backgammon and pachinko — either standalone, or in addition to online slots or other common gambling games. There are sites where you can ‘bet’ on stocks and other financial wagers, as well as betting ‘marketplaces’ where you can name your own wagers and see if there are any takers. So many possibilities — it’s already a fabulous rainbow of gambling, and the best may still be yet to come!
